About Monster Truck Madness 64
It offers improved graphics, an updated interface, new trucks and tracks and the addition of variable weather conditions from its predecessor. However, the game engine is essentially the same as that utilized in the original game. A testament to their similarity is the fact that most custom trucks and tracks are compatible with both games. The "Summit Rumble" king of the hill tracks could only be played if one intended to compete online. Again, "Army" Armstrong provides commentary for the game. However, his race calls have been updated, and new ones have been added.

A rough-handling truck racer that is cheap enough to be an impulse buy.
Monster Truck Madness 64 is the Nintendo 64 port of the PC game Monster Truck Madness 2, developed by Edge of Reality and published by Rockstar Games. It reached North America in July 1999 and the PAL regions that October.
AllGame's N64 review gave it two and a half stars, saying it offers almost everything expected from an arcade racer except tight control: the trucks are extremely hard to keep on the road, which in the reviewer's view ruins the atmosphere.
What the press said at the time
“Although nearly 70% complete, what we've seen so far only assures us that Monster Truck Madness will be THE monster truck game to beat! Seriously!”
Before you buy
The US cartridge sells for less than the middle of the library and the fake risk is low. PAL copies cost more than US ones, loose and complete. A complete copy costs several times the loose price. The Rumble Pak is optional.
