A lovely Westone action-adventure that came out only in Japan, and every US-style cart of it is a reproduction.

Monster World IV is an action-adventure platform game developed by Westone and published by Sega for the Mega Drive, released only in Japan on 1 April 1994. It is the sixth Wonder Boy game and the fourth in the Monster World subseries.

Before you buy

It came out only in Japan, so the genuine cart is the Japanese Mega Drive one, with a notch on the left and ridged edges, and a different shape from a Western cart that needs an adapter or two plastic tabs removed from a Western console's slot. Every US-style cart of it is a reproduction. The cartridge saves to a battery inside it, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair, not a sign of a fake. For a copy at this price ask for a photo of the board.
