A 3D remake of the arcade delivery classic that critics split on, priced at the middle of the library.

This is the Nintendo 64 version of Paperboy, the 1985 Atari Games arcade game, rebuilt in 3D by High Voltage Software and published by Midway in North America in November 1999. High Voltage had begun concept work by July 1997, and Midway announced it would publish the game in August 1998.

Critics disagreed. IGN's Dean Austin disliked the retro 3D look but praised the gameplay, calling it a great game. Daily Radar found it bland and repetitive. GameRevolution liked the sound effects, found the music repetitive and did not think it was all that fun.

Before you buy

It was released in North America and, in 1999, in Europe; the North American cartridge sits right around the library median, with a low fake risk. A complete copy costs several times the loose price, and sealed copies sell for far more again, so a loose cartridge is the practical buy.
