Hudson's Japan-only baseball game, a cheap curiosity for anyone who wants the licensed Japanese-league experience.

Power League 64 is a baseball game from Hudson Soft with licensed teams from the Nippon Professional Baseball League, released only in Japan on August 8, 1997. GameFan reported in September 1996 that Hudson had become an N64 third party, with Power League 64 one of its first two announced games, a sequel to the Power League series that was popular in Japan.

The game suits Japanese-reading baseball fans, and it is mostly a collector's pick otherwise.

What the press said at the time

“When all's said and done, baseball is plainly just rounders played by men in tights who spit a lot and skid around on the floor. Power League adds nothing and is outclassed by both its rivals.”

— N64 Magazine, October 1997

Before you buy

This is the Japanese cartridge and the only release. Loose copies sell below the median for the Japan-only library and the fake risk is low. A complete copy costs a few times the loose price.
