About Shadowgate 64: Trials of the Four Towers
Ages have past since the vile Warlock Lord was banished to another dimension by the brave Lord Jair. The famous deed is now only spoken of as legend and myth. However, recent incidents have transpired in an attempt to resurrect the Ultimate Evil One. Caught up in a chain of events beyond his understanding or control, the Halfling Del must explore the ruins of the dilapidated Castle Shadowgate in order to unravel the mysteries set before him, and thwart the dark plans now in motion.

A moody 3D adventure sequel whose instant-death traps frustrated reviewers, and a cart that costs more than most.
Shadowgate 64: Trials of the Four Towers is a sequel to the original Shadowgate, developed by TNS Co. and Infinite Ventures and published by Kemco. North America got it in June 1999, PAL regions in July 1999 and Japan in August 1999. GameFan reported in August 1998 that the original design team had been reassembled to make it.
N64 Magazine found it very dull and frustrating because of the many instant-death situations, though it praised the atmosphere.

Before you buy
Fake risk is low. The game saves to a Controller Pak, not to the cartridge, so budget for one. The US cart sits well above the library's median price, and a complete copy costs a few times the loose price. PAL copies cost about the same loose and less complete, and Japanese copies cost less.
