About Space Invaders

Space Invaders is a game in which the player controls a laser cannon by moving it horizontally across the bottom of the screen and firing at descending aliens. The aim is to defeat five rows of eleven aliens—some versions feature different numbers—that move horizontally back and forth across the screen as they advance towards the bottom of the screen. The player defeats an alien, and earns points, by shooting it with the laser cannon. As more aliens are defeated, the aliens' movement and the game's music both speed up.

Nintendo 64 prices, all games & how to spot a fake

Activision's N64 take on the arcade classic, a mid-priced curiosity for completionists.

This is the Nintendo 64 version of Space Invaders, developed by Z-Axis and published by Activision in North America in November 1999. The original is Taito's 1978 arcade game.

It is a straightforward update of a very old idea, so it appeals mostly to Space Invaders fans and people finishing an N64 shelf.

Before you buy

A mid-priced cart, sitting about at the library median loose, and the game came out only in North America. A complete copy costs about double a loose one. Fake risk is low.
