Koei's Japan-only historical entry for the Mega Drive, a cheap cart with battery saves.
Taikō Risshiden is a Koei game that came out only in Japan, on 28 May 1993. The series began on the NEC PC-9801 in 1992 and then moved to the Super Famicom and the Mega Drive. The title roughly translates to the Taikō's success story, and its characters come from Japan's Momoyama period.
Before you buy
The cartridge saves to a battery inside it, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair and not a sign of a fake. Among Japan-only carts it sits below the middle. The Japanese cartridge is a different shape from a Western one, so it will not fit a Western console without an adapter or removing two plastic tabs in the slot. The game is in Japanese.
