A cartoon brawler that magazines disagreed about, and a cheap curiosity unless you want the box.

Tom and Jerry in Fists of Furry is a fighting game based on the cartoon series, developed by VIS Entertainment. NewKidCo published it in North America on November 8, 2000, and Ubi Soft handled Europe. The team picked the N64 because its library had few fighting games.

Reception ran from one extreme to the other. IGN, after playing a pre-release demonstration, called it a clone of Power Stone with a disappointing lack of four-player fighting. N64 Magazine told readers to avoid it, finding the cartoon let down by lazy execution and a punch-punch-kick combo system. Nintendo Power called it the best 3D fighter on the console, praising its multiplayer, interactive arenas and precise controls.

Before you buy

The US cartridge sits above the library median and the fake risk is low. PAL copies cost noticeably more than US ones, and the gap is larger for complete copies. A complete copy costs several times the loose price, so a loose cartridge is the economical choice.
