The N64's best rally game by one period magazine's reckoning, though not its best racer.

Top Gear Rally 2 was developed by Saffire and published by Kemco. It came out in North America on December 3, 1999, in Japan in February 2000 and in Europe at the end of that month. GameFan's July 1999 preview reported that Kemco had secured the American Rally Sport Group license, so familiar cars would appear.

N64 Magazine considered it the best rally game on the system but not as rewarding as World Driver Championship. GamePro's The Freshman liked the gameplay, tracks and car selection but thought the N64 had better racers.

How it was made

Developed by Saffire and published by Kemco.

Before you buy

The US cartridge sits below the library median when loose and the fake risk is low. PAL loose copies cost more than US ones, and so do Japanese ones, with Japanese complete copies several times the US price. Budget for a Controller Pak, because the game saves there and not to the cartridge. The Expansion Pak is optional, and the manual says the Rumble Pak is supported.
