A good-looking BlueSky platformer from late in the Genesis's life, cheap for what it is.

Vectorman is a 2D action platformer developed by BlueSky Software and published by Sega for the Genesis, released in North America on 24 October 1995 and Europe in November 1995. Its look comes from a technique Sega called Vector Piece Animation, and Jon Holland's score aimed at a rhythmic, almost danceable electronic sound.

Game Pro UK called it a tough, entertaining platformer that showed the 16-bit machine was not dead yet.

“definitely a game to check out if you're looking for an addition to your Sega library.”

— Electronic Gaming Monthly, November 1995

“What makes Vectorman such a good action game is that it does all the small things right The gamepiay is sharp, while the creative controls keep the action going at a break-neck pace.”

— Game Players, January 1996

“A superb platform shoot 'em up that succeeded in breathing new life into a tired genre.”

— Mean Machines Sega, February 1996

Among US carts it sits a little below the middle. The European loose cart usually costs more than the US one, while a complete European copy usually costs about the same. A cardboard-box edition and a Mega Hit Series re-release are priced separately from the plastic-case copy, so check which one a listing shows.
