A Brazil-only port of a Super Nintendo brawler that is one of the cheaper Tec Toy carts but still a real purchase.
Battletoads in Battlemaniacs began on the Super Nintendo, where Rare developed it. Syrox Developments ported it to the Master System, and Tec Toy published that version in Brazil in 1996. It was slated for a European release from Virgin Interactive Entertainment, planned for July 1994, but the Brazilian cart is the version collectors can find.
Andy Smith of Sega Power praised the Master System version for its varied types of action and occasional humorous touches. He criticized its mediocre graphics, button-stabbing tendencies and high difficulty.
How it was made
Syrox Developments ported the game to the Master System; Tec Toy published it in Brazil.
How the Sega Master System version differs
The Brazilian release was an unpolished build: some stages have no music, and there are minor glitches such as a choppy scrolling floor in the bonus stages and invisible obstacles in the turbo tunnel.
The planned European release was pulled at the last moment, after the British press had already reviewed the game.

- Super NES. GameRankings averaged the Super NES version at 78% from two reviews.
Before you buy
This is a Tec Toy Brazilian release, so you are shopping for the Brazilian cart. It is priced like the rest of the Brazilian-only group, a little below that group's middle.
