A solid EA golf sim in the PGA Tour mold that is cheap to own and saves to a battery.
This is the Genesis version of PGA European Tour, an EA Sports golf game developed by Polygames. It came out in North America in 1994 and in Europe in March 1994. Game Players, reviewing it in 1994, said it offered very realistic golf in the line of the first two PGA Tour games.
What the press said at the time
| Sega Magazine Issue 6 | June 1994 | 93% |
| MegaTech Issue 33 | September 1994 | 90% |
“We'll be honest - if you already have a PGA game (preferably PGA 2), there's little point investing in this unless you're after new courses and new challenges.”
“This is the best of the bunch so far, but it isn't sufficiently different from the others to warrant a purchase”
Before you buy
The cartridge saves to a battery inside it, so test that a save holds; a replaced battery is a normal repair and not a sign of a fake. Among US carts it sits below the middle. The European loose cart usually costs about half as much as the US one, while a complete European copy usually costs about the same. Sega Retro lists it as working with EA's 4 Way Play.
