About Ms. Pac-Man: Maze Madness

Professor Pac learns that the witch, Mesmerelda, has seized control of the Enchanted Castle using black magic and from there is planning on stealing all four Gems of Virtue (Generosity; Truth; Wisdom; Courage) to control the "four wonders" (areas of Pac-Land). He creates a device called a Pactrometer which allows Ms. Pac-Man to go to these areas to recover the gems before Mesmerelda can get them first.

Nintendo 64 prices, all games & how to spot a fake

A 3D Pac-Man spin-off that reviewers found decent on its own and unconvincing in multiplayer, at a middling price.

This is the Nintendo 64 version of Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness, published by Namco in North America in November 2000, with Mass Media as the N64 developer. It came to the system after the PlayStation original, alongside Dreamcast and Game Boy Advance editions.

Nintendo Power said the N64 multiplayer mode stumbles, while N64 Magazine called its multiplayer terrible, citing blurry three-quarter-view mazes and chasers that move twice as fast as the other players. NextGen's January 2001 review was warmer, calling the N64 game a solid package for just about any gamer.

“reasonably good version of Resident Evil 2 on N64, I think the technology exists to port this modest little game without any graphical hitches.”

— Game Informer, December 2000

Before you buy

A loose copy sits about at the library median, and the fake risk is low. Sealed and complete copies cost noticeably more, so a loose cart is the usual buy. It was released in North America only.
