Turn-based worm warfare with an N64 terrain editor, whose North American cartridge now costs vastly more than the PAL one.

This is the Nintendo 64 version of Worms Armageddon, ported by Infogrames Lyon House and published by Infogrames. It reached North America in March 2000. The N64 game is one of the first on the system to feature a terrain editor and generator.

Many publications gave the N64 version favorable reviews while it was still in development, months before its US release. Hyper's Arthur Adam rated it highly.

How the Nintendo 64 version differs

The Nintendo 64 version arrived in March 2000, after the PC original, and is one of the first N64 games to include a terrain editor and generator.

A period N64 Magazine preview noted that the N64 version added a cartful of high-pitched worm speech samples.

Before you buy

The North American cartridge is one of the priciest in the library loose, and a complete copy costs several times more again. The fake risk is medium, so ask for a photo of the board, which is the reliable test; a cart that boots proves nothing. PAL copies cost far less than US ones. A modern licensed cartridge from Limited Run Games also exists, so a buyer of an original should check which they are getting.
